Request and throughput limits are documented in full under Rate limits. Holding a subscribe connection open consumes one request against the rate limit at connect time and nothing thereafter.
Pricing questions
What counts as an event?
One entry inside the events array of a publish counts as one event. A
single POST that carries 200 events counts as 200. For
raw streams, where the body is opaque bytes, each publish counts as
one event regardless of what you packed into it, and egress is measured in bytes.
What happens when I hit a monthly limit?
On the Free plan, publishes past the event limit are rejected with
429 until the month rolls over, and subscribers keep reading what is
already there. On paid plans, usage past the included amount is billed at the
overage rate above; there is no hard stop unless you set a spending cap in the
dashboard.
Do long-lived subscribe connections cost anything?
Not by themselves. You are billed for the bytes delivered over a subscription and for the events published, not for the duration a connection stays open. A subscriber that sits idle on a quiet stream for a week costs nothing for that week.
Is egress metered on both publish and subscribe?
Egress is bytes leaving Runnev, which in practice means batch data delivered to subscribers, plus API response bodies. Inbound publish bodies are not counted as egress. A stream with one publisher and ten subscribers delivers its data roughly ten times, and that is what egress measures.
Can I change plans mid-month?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period so you keep the higher limits you already paid for.

Team and Scale can be billed annually at a discount; Enterprise is annual by default. Get in touch for annual pricing.
